Albert Einstein (via sleeping-sculptures)
Yeah, Alb. You said it, bud.
Fun Fact: My great-uncle used to say “Guten tag” (also known as “good day” in German) every morning to Mr. Albert on Princeton campus. Wonder what genius I say hello to every day @ W&M. Exciting.
Happy you day, on this overcast, chilly day. I decided to post about the most awesome thing you’ve got going on in your life - You. It’s (Fr) I - day. Today is your day. (Am I channeling the Kurt Russell “Miracle” speech? Yikes!)
To decide that if wearing Crocs is wrong, you don’t want to be right. To actually enjoying crying at a great book - maybe even a commercial (hey, it happens.) Admitting that your only consistent news source is John Stewart’s “The Daily Show.”
To shove it in your closet and consider your place clean. To pretend to text to get out of talking to that incredibly chatty person next to you - it’s called communi-faking and we all do it. (I have this friend Laura, that I can’t help but crack a smile thinking about her within this context…although she would probably have no qualms about politely saying, “Excuse me? Could you please shut the hell up? Thank you so much.”
To grovel with the coffee man about lowering the price, since you go in every, single, solitary day (without exception), 365 days a year. Having no shame: priceless.
To refuse the butt-out hug and go in for the real thing. To never fantasize about being a lady who lunches. It’s more fun to be a woman who lives.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and takes the opportunity for a little relaxation (cue mood music and bubble bath). That book you’ve been waiting to dive into all week, or the movie put on hold, T.V. episode that you TiVo-ed and have yet to start, the laundry (but can’t that wait…), the cup of coffee that isn’t rushed by time commitments, work, meetings, alarm clocks and car-pools.
Maybe some good ol’ peace and quiet:
“I’ll be peace
-I’ll be quiet” - from “What About Bob”. God, Bill Murray is great.
This circular, dark wicker chair with a ridiculously large, excessively soft, cream pillow that is strategically placed within the chair that makes you never want to leave it. Also, it’s placed next to a window in my room that acts as both the best reading chair you’ll ever see and part-time bed, for when you fall asleep reading. It’s a beautiful thing.
Today, I think I’ll do some fancy biking around Williamsburg. I’ll do this for all the people of Galesburg, IL that are not able to because of a recent law I discovered that makes “fancy biking” illegal to residents in the area. What a shame! I love fancy biking.
Today’s tune for me is “Wide Eyes” by the ever-great Local Natives. Can’t stop drumming my feet to there beats.
Hope everyone enjoys the outdoors, even in this cold, rainy, East-Coast-in-January day! It’s as beautiful out as you want it to be. Big Hugs, MWB
